Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook

Araya Rasdjarmrearnsook is one of Thailand’s leading visual artists. Based in the northern city of Chiang Mai, where she teaches in the Faculty of Fine Art at Chiang Mai University, Rasdjarmrearnsook’s videos and installations profoundly explore aspects of human experience and understanding, often touching on taboo topics such as death and insanity. Most recently a pronounced sense of humor accompanies her provocative yet touching representations.

Hema Upadhyay

Hema Upadhyay is a polymorphous artist, employing all manner of media and methods such as painting, photography and installations that have included cockroaches, artificial limbs and car scraps. Themes of displacement and isolation, underlined by a sense of potential violence, frame this Mumbai-based artist’s work which is otherwise distinguished by a great sense of intricacy and fragility.

Jakkai Siributr

Jakkai Siributr maintains an extraordinary and innovative practice as an artist that resolutely explodes distinctions between fine arts and craft. Trained as a textile designer, Siributr draws more readily on the historic language of painting to weave and stitch layered images inspired by personal memories, Buddhist practice and life in his native Bangkok.

Sheba Chhachhi

Sheba Chhachhi creates digital tapestries of cross-cultural imagery drawn from mythology, history and contemporary life. The Delhi-based artist often employs a primitive animation device to create hypnotic movement and her explorations of fractured narratives and symbolism are wonderfully set in robust sculptural forms.
